High Street Clothes £20 & Under

Finally a high street store taking note of budgets, Dorothy Perkins have offers on 100 dresses for £20 or Under, 100 Tops £12 and All knitwear £20 or under. So it's worth a look. Check out my favourites
on offer;

100 dresses for £20 or Under

Multi black vintage dressGrey windowpane check dress

I would wear these with leggings as they look pretty short and a pair of boots for the day or to glam them up tights and heels.

  100 Tops £12 and under

Caramel and black stripe top

Purple foil diamond shell top

As I only had a baby 7 weeks ago I need to hide my jelly belly so I would go for these two tops and wear with leggings and boots or ballerina shoes.

All knitwear £20 or under

Black raggy stripe jumper Berry wave stitch jumper
Again to hide my belly I would go for a longer look jumper and these would be great with leggings and boots or ballerina shoes.

Freebies and Sales

Magazine coverThis week I bought two copies of Glamour magazine as they are giving away free Benefit make up worth £10-15, so I picked up the Mascara and the Pore perfector...I love freebies.

Glamour has listed 100 dresses under £200
Some nice ones on there but £200 you must be joking I can find dresses that are just as nice for a lot less, but to be fair you will see the odd one under £25.

Dorothy Perkins have up to 40% off maxi dresses at the moment, here are my favourites and most are under £25:

Animal twist knot maxi dress

Outfits No. 8 & 9 Under £20

I've missed an outfit under £20 post as I'm just not getting the time to post at the moment. Juggling full time work with motherhood is hard work.

As I missed last weeks outfit under £20 I thought I would do two this week especially as I have a wedding on the 12th so I need help deciding what to wear.

Outfit One:
  • Black and yellow floral dress from New Look, this has a gold zip at the back, it's not bad with tights. This was originally £27.99 but I paid of course sale price £9.
Total cost £17 (not inc tights)

If it's chilly I'll probably add a black jacket. It would look good with yellow platform shoes and matching bag but I don't have those.

Outfit Two:
  • Orange with black and white polka dot chiffon dress with belt from Primark in the sale at £7 it was £15.
Total cost £15 (not inc tights)

Again I would add a black jacket but if it's warmer I think I'd lose the tights.

What do you think? Opinions please...which should I wear to the wedding next week?

Back to Work Wear

Second day at work done and these are the outfits I chose to wear on my first two days.

04.04.12
Day One
Dotty Dress from Dorothy Perkins and heels from Tesco Clothing which has been one of my Outfits under £20.
I added black tights as it hasn't been that warm out there this week. The bag is from Next which I mentioned in my post Next Sale Purchases.
It may have been a little over the top but never mind I needed to feel my best as it was a difficult day leaving my little man behind with daddy for the first time and all day.

I felt pretty good in this even though I had to wipe the tears away for most of the day.

Day Two:
05.04.12
Red dress from Tesco Clothing in the sale of course for £7 it was originally £22 which has been mentioned in my previous post What to wear.

I teamed this up with black tights and my birthday boots from Dorothy Perkins also in the sale for £28 which were £60.

I felt nice in this but I'm not sure the picture shows it as a very flattering dress but I think it looks better in the flesh maybe another time I will add a belt or a long funky necklace.

It's actually quite nice to dress up a little for work than wearing my usual leggings which are great by the way and a godsend while I was pregnant but dresses do make you feel more womanly.

Supermarket Clothing

Wow.........look at these dresses from Asda at £16 each, you will certainly get noticed in either of these but of course my favourite is the polka dots.

Spot Print Pleated DressBold Stripe Dress

Influence Butterfly print vest top

F&F A line lace dress
I'm loving all the colour around at the moment. Look at this A line lace dress which is new in at Tesco f&f at only £14 it's yummy.

This Butterfly vest is also £14

Sainsbury's Tu Range also have some nice bits as helped by Gok.

I hate to say it but I do buy a lot of clothes from the supermarkets as they are reasonably priced and have a nice collection of clothing. My weekly food shop always takes me longer than it should because of the clothing departments.

Outfit No.2 Under £20

Week 2 of my outfits for under £20 from a confessed shopaholic and wannabe style guru.

I'm mad about dots at the moment so this will be a favourite outfit of mine in the coming weeks, as it can be dressed up with heels and dressed down with flats and worn day and night.

The Outfit:

  • Black and white polka dot dress £10 (in sale was £32 at Dorothy Perkins woohoo!)
  • Shoes £8 (in sale at Tesco Clothing was £18)

The whole outfit is for £18

This would have cost a whooping £50 but I got it for only £18, Definitely pays to wait for the sales or looking through the rails to spot a bargain.

I would love to find out what you think out there.

Shopaholic

Shopaholic: is a term used to describe individuals who consider themselves as addicted to shopping.

I confess I am a Shopaholic, Lately I have been making any excuse for buying clothes....last week it was "It's my birthday soon" or the last month it's been "I need to look good on my return to work" and before that I just felt rubbish so needed cheering up and "oh it's only £... what a bargain".

Now the guilt begins...As I lay all my new dresses, tops, trousers and accessories out, I felt this huge guilt trip because I really didn't need it all I already have drawfuls so why do i do it........the truth like any addict it makes me feel better at the time.

http://www.blingcheese.com/graphics/love/shopping/shopaholic1.gifI go through phases when I'm feeling low, sad or dreading something I turn to the shops...this time it's the thought of going back to work after a year off and leaving my little man.

It's a good thing I don't have expensive taste. I will be putting my new outfits together for more "Outfits under £20" so watch this space.

Anyone else what to share their shopping addiction?

What To Wear

I have about 5 weeks until I go back to work after being off on maternity for a year, I have lost some baby weight but I have also put some back on in the last few weeks which I feel pretty rubbish about but i'm on a diet (kind of) and on the look out for a new outfit for my first day back. I need to feel confident, stylish and just fabulous to make me feel better about going back and leaving my baby with someone else to look after :-(

I have been browsing on Tesco Clothing and I have found two great dresses that maybe contenders.

Blue box pleat button detail dress which will look great with black tights and heels or flat pumps to dress down a little. It's stylish and bright and looks flattering.

Or

We have the red A-line dropped waist dress which again would look great with tights and heels as shown or pumps but I think some funky boots would look particulary great.

What do you think, would either be a good going back to work dress?

These are both half price at the moment so only £7 each so I may just get them both....oh naughty me. I do have a wedding to go to in May and it's my birthday very soon, oh enough with the excuses i'm getting them BOTH hehe!
