Review: Colour B4 Extra Strength

Original mousy colour
Blonde as a child
My original hair colour is a mousy brown but in my early twenties I started colouring my hair trying blonde - sun in mistake that made my hair dry, red (not as I hoped) and jet black.
I am now a dark brown but the ends of my hair are darker due to the build up of colour over the years and I hate the different shades in my hair so I've tried lemon juice, washing up liquid and various shampoos but they haven't made a big enough difference so when I saw the Colour B4 remover for dark hair I thought I've got to give it ago.

After reading other reviews it seems pretty good. I've tried lightening my hair before and went bright orange and my hair felt awful afterwards (that wasn't the sun in mistake) so I have been reluctant to try again but can't afford the high salon prices.

I have wanted to go lighter for some time as I get the horrid grey hairs which I think show up much more on dark hair. I have had dark hair for years so time for a change.

Here goes...........

BEFORE
BEFORE
The reviews on the smell were spot on it really does smell of rotten eggs. I used two boxes which was recommended if you have thick hair. I combed through and covered with cling film as advised and left for an hour. Then 10 minute rinsing followed by the buffer twice.

It's a long winded process but it has lifted the colour not as much as I hoped as the ends of my hair still look dark and the roots look copper/brassy tone, I have had years and years or colour so I couldn't expect much lighter really at least it isn't bright orange.

AFTER
It says not to colour for at least 7 days but you can put temp colour on so I may try a ash darkish blonde or a light brown to see if it lifts it more.

AFTER
I would recommend this product if you want to go lighter as it does what it says on the box.
